Services

  • Behavioral Specialists:This optional service can be purchased for students in the full-day program who are transitioning back to the public school classroom, as well as students currently experiencing problems in the public school classroom.

  • Day Treatment Services:This service emphasizes an individualized therapeutic, mental health support program provided for the student and his/her family within the school. Services for parents include family therapy, parent support groups, collaboration with other agencies, case management and advocacy, and transition planning and support.

  • Unique programs for students on the autism spectrum,as well as students with multiple disabilities are provided at all campuses. At the Roanoke campus, Commonwealth Autism Service provides staff bi-weekly training, in addition to consultation within designated classrooms.

  • Transitional servicesfor the successful return of the student to the public school environment and/or community setting are included in the day treatment priogram. Family services available include case management and advocacy, collaboration with other agencies, and transition planning and support.

  • Extended School Year Summer Program:Minnick offers a summer school program providing academic and remedial instruction, involvement in therapeutic recreation and adventure activities, and educational and social outings.
